 Nancy Stoltenberg-Bates (1963-2006)
Nancy was born in Kearney, Nebraska in 1963. Because her father was in the Navy, her family
relocated shortly thereafter to San Diego. They settled in Poway where Nancy excelled both as a student and as a talented
musician. She started playing darts in 1989 and soon afterward met her husband Russ. She became a GSDDA All-Star, was a member
of the RHADT and enjoyed some success in national tournaments. One year before Nancy and Russ were Married in 1995, Nancy
was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She endured a 12-year long battle with the disease for which there still is no
cure. She passed away in April 2006. Nancy always had a smile and a friendly greeting for everyone she met. She truly loved
darts, Russ and life.
